Most of the employees at P&ROSolutions have been working together since 1990. A majority of our staff formerly worked for the Maintenance & Diagnostics Center at Eddystone, PA, an independent company serving the industrial reliability marketplace beginning in the 1980’s and lasting into the 1990’s. The "PRO" experience and concepts (Plant Reliability Optimization) started being developed and applied in the industry by that organization. A merger and reorganization in the late 1990’s led to the departure of most of the staff. But soon they were nearly fully reconstituted at EPRI Solutions (ESI), a new entity empowered by the Electric Power Research Institute to provide consulting and field services implementing performance & reliability best-practices across the full range of plant maintenance, engineering, and operations processes.

In January of 2006, Jack McElroy, Executive Director of Plant Services at ESI (and the primary force behind the highly successful plant reliability services at ESI) resigned his position and formed P&ROSolutions, a firm specializing in comprehensive Performance & Reliability Optimization services for industry. By mid-year, many of the project managers, technical staff, and seasoned field-consultants of ESI’s Plant Services had also left their positions and joined P&ROSolutions. Several successful and talented industry veterans have also joined the team. By the end of 2008, P&ROSolutions employed nearly two-dozen full-time professional & support staff and about a dozen independent contractors.
